Cynthia (pronounced Seen-Cha) Presser grew up in the vibrant, 
tropical surroundings of Brazil where she started cooking at 16.  
During the last 25 years Presser has self-taught her way through 
the kitchen with determination, passion and a big appetite for delicious food, especially the 
delights from her home country. Like its soccer and samba, beautiful beaches and carnival, 
Brazilian cooking is an explosion of color and flavors. She moved to San Diego, California 
when she was 24 with a suitcase of belongings and her recipe journal. In 2009, Presser moved 
to Fort Wayne, Indiana to raise her family. Shortly thereafter, she created a cultural event 
in Fort Wayne called A Taste of Brazil and started her cooking website, Cynthia Presser – 
Cooking with a Twist, which quickly grew to 20,000 visitors per month. In 2013, Presser’s 
passion for Brazilian culture and her aim to bring Brazil's foods into American kitchens 
prompted her to write her first cookbook, “Cooking with a Brazilian Twist.” She has made 
several appearances on the NBC 

"Today" show, and has also been featured on the culinary 

reality show 

"The Taste", from ABC, alongside Anthony Bourdain and Nigella Lawson. Presser 

currently resides in Tampa, Florida, with her husband and two sons. We 
welcome Cynthia Presser to our table for an afternoon filled with vivid 
flavors, seasonal ingredients, and unexpected combinations as you savor 
the art of Brazilian cuisine.
