Joined by Chef Patrick Rebholz

Those at Cakebread believe “life’s occasions are elevated by good people, good food and good wine”

and that belief flows through everything they do. Founded in 1973 by Jack and Dolores Cakebread

in Rutherford, California, this family winery is best known for its chardonnay and sauvignon blancs

and produces approximately 75,000 cases of wine per year. In 1974, the winery produced its first

chardonnay, and two years later released their first cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel.

President and COO Bruce Cakebread says it takes “a thousand small steps” to make their

wines. In order to continue improving quality from year to year, their wines go through a slow

evolution in style ensuring consumers never cease to find them delicious and intriguing.

Wines of the Bordeaux Region

Joined by Lior Sercaz

Many will argue that Bordeaux is the greatest wine region in the world. Wine has been grown

in Bordeaux for a couple of thousand years predating even the Romans arrival in 56 BC. Today,

Bordeaux has close to 250,000 acres under vine, making it the largest and most important wine

producing region in France. Approximately 850 million bottles are produced each year.

America’s first wine connoisseur, Thomas Jefferson, not only drank wines from here, but made it a
point to visit the region and see for himself what made these wines so great. Great cellars around

the world are filled with wines from the different chateaus of the region and this evening in the

Clubhouse is an opportunity to learn and enjoy more from this incredible wine producing region.
